The Mentor Program provides PRSA Phoenix New Pros with a structured, nine-month program designed to support the career development and growth of new public relations professionals in Phoenix. The program welcomes both mentors and mentees, and applicants are matched based on interests and experiences, creating the optimal foundation for joint learning and development.
Mentees are PR pros with less than five years of professional experience in the industry and who would like support in reaching their professional goals, while mentors use their experience, knowledge, and leadership skills to provide this support.
The PRSA Phoenix Mentorship Program is guided by two main ideas:
There will be a $50 materials fee for mentees participating in the program. This covers attendance to three PRSA Phoenix events throughout the program. Scholarships are available; email email@example.com for details. Download the application by March 1, 2019
During a recent podcast interview, Ira M. Gostin, MBA, APR responded when asked why communications was so important, said, “Effective communications is the voice of business success.”
And that’s the title of Ira’s presentation for our PRSA Phoenix Chapter.
As strategic communications professionals, we all know the importance of what we do on a daily basis, but sometimes we forget to look at the big picture. Ira will share lessons learned from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, the craziness of an IPO and a career in communications, public relations and marketing.
Join us Thursday, March 14 for our PRSA Phoenix Chapter’s luncheon with national speaker Ira Gostin.

Some of our year-long events include media breakfasts, networking events, professional development luncheons and happy hours for new professionals. The public is always welcome to attend and chapter members receive discounts on all events.
We host one networking event per quarter. These events typically include two happy hours, a joint event with the International Association of Business Communicators in Phoenix and the annual Holiday Mixer.
Approximately three to six times per year, we welcome a panel of journalists and local media heavyweights from various industries to join its members for breakfast and an interactive discussion.
We host bi-monthly professional development luncheons featuring notable guest speakers and panelists that educate, inform and provide insight into issues impacting the industry. They are typically held on the fourth Thursday of every other month.
Our New Pros Group is comprised of members with fewer than five years of professional PR experience. It provides career assistance, mentor relationships and opportunities for professional development, training and resource sharing. New Pros happy hours are held regularly.
