Ethics Week
"In public relations, honesty isn't optional. That means being accurate in what we claim, even when the truth is less flashy. Spin might win headlines, but it can cost reputations. Honesty is PRSA's second professional value." - Maria Brokey, APR
Honesty demands we uphold the highest standards of accuracy and integrity in every message. Communications should never mislead-either by commission or omission. Ethically strong messaging builds credibility, trust and long-term reputation.

NEW ON THE BLOG
The media landscape continues to shift to be more digital. Newsrooms are leaner, deadlines are shorter, and journalists are expected to churn out stories across multiple platforms, often with limited resources. For PR professionals, the traditional coffee catch-up or newsroom visit has largely been replaced by email threads, social media direct messages, and virtual interviews.
MASTERS GROUP
New Leader for PRSA Phoenix Masters Group
The PRSA Phoenix Chapter welcomes Heather Lawrence (Russell), APR, MBA, as the new volunteer leader of its Masters Special Interest Group, a community for PR professionals with 15+ years of experience. With more than two decades in strategic communications, Heather is known for driving outcomes through clear messaging, compelling storytelling, and collaborative leadership. Her career spans internal and external communications, product marketing, and executive visibility, with notable impact in aerospace and defense. An award-winning communicator, past chapter president, and dedicated mentor, Heather brings both strategic insight and genuine enthusiasm to her new role guiding the Masters group.
